Umlando wenkosi uDingane

Umlando wamakhosi akwaZulu ufana nenkomo ehlatshiwe ngoba unonile futhi ngendlela omkhulu ngayo ufana namantshontsho kubalobi njengoba lowo nalowo esika lapho athanda khona ashiye lapho angathandi khona. Kuleli khasi ke sithi asikhiphe umkhono kulenkomo esengwa yiviyo, ngokuba nathi lapha kulengosi ye-iAfrika silobe ngomlando omncane ngenkosi uDingane okwaziwayo emlandweni ukuthi yaba nesandla esikhulu ekukhothameni kwenkosi uShaka, sengisho phela “Ilemb’ elehlul’ amanye amalembe ngokukhalipha”.

Ukubulawa kwenkosi uShaka

Sizwe sikaPhunga ake siyineke kanje ke lendaba, kuthiwa ekubuyeni kwenkosi uShaka ekuhlaseleni emaMpondweni, wathi akudlulelwe phambili kuyohlaselwa kwaSoshangane. Lokhu ke kwamfakela amazinyo abushelelezi kubafowabo ababevele bengasamuzwa kahle uShaka nokubusa kwakhe. Uzungu lokubulala uShaka lwakhiwa ngabozalo lwakubo, uDingane, uMhlangana kanye noyisekazi odume kakhulu ebukhosini bakwaZulu okuwuMkabayi. Siyezwa ukuthi kuloluzungu ababeludwebela uNodumehlezi kaMenzi bafaka noMbopha kaSithayi owayeyinduna yalo iLembe. Okwalandela kwaba wukuthi lapho isiphuma impi iyohlasela kwaSoshangane, oDingane kanye noMbopha noMhlangana bahosha imfe babuyela emuva ekhaya bayibulala inkosi uShaka. Kodwa-ke lokho kukhothama kukaShaka akubanga yilokhu ababulali ababecabanga ukuthi kuzoba yikhona, kwavela ngokushesha ukuthi inkosi uShaka yayinabantu ababeyithanda, lokho okwadala ukuthi ukukhothama kwakhe kuveze amaqembuqembu, kwaba khona iqembu likaDingane kanye neqembu likaMhlangana.

Kuyaphawuleka ukuthi ngokukhothama kwenkosi uShaka abantu bathi ukuphefumula kancane bakhululeka ngoba phela kubikwa ukuthi abantu babelesaba kakhulu iLembe ngenxa yokuthi lalibulala. Abanye babekhala ngokuthi inkosi uShaka yayiphethe ngesandla sensimbi, engumuntu onomthetho oqinile ngisho emabuthweni akhe njengoba nje ayengavumelekile ukuganwa esemasha kodwa elinda aze aganwe esekhulile.

UDingane uthatha ubukhosi

Ngemuva kokubulawa kukaShaka basala bebhekene ngeziqu zamehlo uDingane noMhlangana, nalapho kwaphinde kwaba wuye futhi uMkabayi ofaka isandla ekubeni uDingane agudluze uMhlangana. Phela uDingane wayesibheke ngamehlo abomvu isihlalo sobukhosi, engafune kubangiswa njengoba nje wake waninga ngisho nangakho ukusoconga uMpande owasinda ngokuthi uNdlela athi akayekwe angabulawa ngoba uyagula vele uphethwe ngumchoboko. Kanjalo-ke njengamakhosi amaningi akwaZulu uDingane wangena ebukhosini enyathela igazi labozalo lwabakubo.

Ukukhothama kwenkosi uShaka ngesandla sikamfowabo uDingane kwathusa futhi kwashiya abantu abaningi bekhexile ngoba babengasilindele lesosenzo. Kuthiwa ngisho naye uShaka siqu sakhe wamangala kakhulu uma esevukelwa wuDingane ngoba phela kwakuyinto ayengayicabangi leyo ukuthi ingase yenzeke. UDingane walutha abantu abaningi ngoba wayebukeka engumuntu olungile, ukulunga kwakhe kuyilokho okwakunika ithemba lokuthi ngeke alichithe igazi ngenxa yokugaqela ubukhosi, kanti ababuzanga elangeni.

UDingane nezimpi

Kuzokhumbuleka ukuthi uMzilikazi owayekade eyinduma yeLembe wadla phansi nezinkomo zenkosi uShaka isaphila. UShaka wakhothama engakazilandi lezozinkomo kuMzilikazi, kwabe sekuba wuDingane  owahloma wahlasela uMzilikazi eyolanda izinkomo ezazintshontshwe enkosini uShaka. Leyompi eyayiphakwe uDingane yayigabe ngezinduna okwakubalwa kuzo uNdlela kaSompisi wakwaNtuli kanye noNzobo kaSobadli. Impi kaDingane yathi lapho ifika emzini kaMzilikazi yamfica engekho ehlasele kwenye indawo. UDingane wabe-ke esewola zonke izinkomo ezaficwa ezibayeni zikaMzilikazi kwasala kuphela lezo uMzilikazi ayezisise kwezinye izindawo ngoba phela umfokaKhumalo lo wayezihlakunasile ngokwezigodi izinkomo zakhe.

Kodwa-ke uDingane akagcinanga lapho, waphinde futhi wayiphaka okwesibili impi yokuhlasela uMzilikazi eseyofuna lezi ezinye izinkomo ayengazitholanga ekuhlaseleni kokuqala. Kuleyompi uDingane wamehlula uMzilikazi kwazise naye ngalesosikhathi wayebambene phansi namabhunu, elwa nawo. Kuthiwa inkosi uDingane waqotha imbokodo nesisekelo kuleyompi.

UDingane waphinde futhi wahlasela uMbeje wakwaKhumalo owayehlobene noMzilikazi, nalapho futhi inkosi yabuya nomhlambi wezinkomo.

Ziningi ezinye izimpi ezibalulwayo ezaliwa ngamabutho enkosi uDingane, naseSwazini kuthiwa nakhona waqotha lapho ehlasela abaThwa. Kwenye impi uDingane wahlasela inkosi yamaSwazi uSobhuza uqobo kodwa lapho amabutho kaZulu ehlulwa. Ngemuva kokukhothama kukaSobhuza kwaphatha uMswazi owathumba izinkomo zikaZulu, okwabe ngalesosenzo uselibasile ikloba lomlilo elaholela kwenye futhi impi phakathi kukaZulu namaSwazi. Kuleyompinda impi kaZulu eyayiholwa nguNdlela yafike yazidlela amahlanga kumaSwazi.

UDingane namaBhunu

Kodwa isigigaba esingelibaleke ngesikhathi sokubusa kwenkosi uDingane yilapho u “Bantu ninemihlobo ngaseNsingweni, Gijimani niyotshel’ abakwaMashobana, Nifike nithi lukhulu luyeza luyanyelela, Silufanisa noPhunga noMageba” ayebambene khona namaBhunu.

Kuthiwa amaBhunu afika kuDingane ezokhonga, ezocela umhlaba, eholwa wu-Piet Retief. Kuthiwa impendulo kaDingane kulawomaBhunu kwaba wukuthi awaqale abuyise izinkomo zakhe ayezebile. AmaBhunu aphika alala ngomhlane ukuthi kukhona izinkomo ayezebile, akhomba abeSuthu futhi ahamba ethi ayozilanda lezozinkomo futhi nempela abuya nazo. Lokho kwenza ukuba uDingane awanike amaBhunu umhlaba, kanti usezifaka enkingeni. Isidumo sasuka kungalindelekile lapho kwafika khona ugqayinyanga ezobika enkosini ukuthi ubone amaBhunu ezungeza umuzi wenkosi kusempondozankomo. Lokho kwamnenga kakhulu uDingane, wagcina ekhiphe izwi lokuthi abasocongwe abathakathi, esho wona phela amaBhunu ngoba kwaZulu umuntu okhokhoba ngobumnyama wayekhombisa ukuba ngumthakathi. Kuthiwa ke uDingane wahlela konke wanquma nosuku ayezobulawa ngalo amaBhunu. Kwenziwa umcimbi, kwagaywa notshwala afakwa esibayeni amaBhunu aphuziswa adakwa awangakwazi ngisho ukuhamba. Kuthe kusenjalo amabutho awangena ngejozi lawo maBhunu afela khona lapho esibayeni.
